ZK

Programming on ZK with MVVM gives the advantage of a whole lot faster coding. I'm amazed by MVVM and I hope I never have to go back to MVC.

If you're looking to build functional web-applications based on Java technology. Nothing but nothing is faster to develop in. It's not for arty sites, it's for web applications and at that it excels.

We use ZK with Grails since 1 year, we develop easy-to-use webapps on this platform and end users are satisfied.

Our need, few months ago, was to start a new small web app for in-house use in our company. We have made an extensive evaluation of various frameworks and the final winners were GWT and ZK. So, we decided to implement it in both frameworks! I am sorry to say that Google but the ZK team finished 2 weeks earlier in an overall process of 1.5 month. But we didn't drop GWT for that... the real reason was the maintenance. Maintenance procedure and automated testing in ZK is extreme fast and solid. BUT i will agree ZK is not a framework for artistic web sites. It is the right platform to handle big amounts of data fast, stable and secure.

We are using ZK for about 2 years now. We have used it to build enterprise desktop-like applications. I must say it is not a convenient framework if you are planning to build a web site for the public. But on the other hand if you want to build a B2B site ZK is one of the best solutions. I would suggest also to use the ZK's MVVM pattern and see how much faster you can do things without any hidden magick.
